Entry: Updates. Saturday, July 25, 2009

Ohmigootness!

Although my last entry was dated July 4th, which is technically still recent because it's still July as of this time, it felt like I haven't been blogging for years! I know I have been ignoring my blog *sniff* because of all my easier to update accounts on
Twitter and FaceBook, where I can even update status and post photos using my phone.

Anyway, just thought I should give my blog some attention. After all, my blog was there even before Twitter and FaceBook came, and it became my listening ear with all my rants and raves since 2005.

Here are some updates:

1. I will be moving to a different place starting this coming week. I've packed my stuff in boxes and at least 85% of them hauled this morning to my new place, which is a house that just has been bought by a friend and her family. I will be renting a room in their house. I believe it's better than an apartment because the homeliness is there (I'm not even sure if that's a word, but you know what I mean!). I still have a few things left here in the apartment, which I plan to transport myself (thank God for having an SUV) when I go back there, most probably tomorrow. :) I guess one of the worst things to do is to UN-pack the stuff I carefully... well actually I didn't carefully pack them but more of stuffed them--- in boxes. I'll get to it soon.

2
. I have been working at a camp since summer started. with one of my boys at camp, after a tiring day :)It's a camp for elementary-aged children with Autism. I was assigned at the Southern site, and one advantage of it is that these children will eventually be coming to the school I'm working at when they start Middle School. Working at the camp is really fun! We have 12 boys in the program this summer, and though many of them have anger problems and a handful are very defiant, being with them is just really fun! They go swimming on Tuesdays, golf and bowling on Wednesdays, have lunches at different parks and playgrounds; we watched a Baysox and a Mystics Game (the arenas were amazing!) and even went fishing and boat riding! The camp's last day's on the 31st, and I know I will truly miss these boys.

3. My dad's still recovering at home. I get updates from my mom and sister, and I am sometimes able to speak while my dad is listening through YM. I know it will be a long journey of trials for me and my family, but we all have to be strong and keep our faith in God.

4. I'll be back to work in a few weeks. My students and I will be taking on 8th grade. I hope we'll have fun this year.

5. I'll be watching AI8 Finalists on Tour this coming Aug 5th. I have no idea where seats of our tickets will be, but I don't care. I just need to see Anoop! And okay, Matt and Kris. I've started to like them because of how funny their tweets were!

6. I know it's kinda late, but I am about 50 pages away from finishing New Moon. I have to admit, the book started slow (in my opinion) and so I didn't have much enthusiasm to read it. The middle and ending parts have raised their levels a lot so I'm glad I held on to it. I have a couple of chicklit books on the side that I have BOTH started reading several weeks ago, too. Funny, I never tried reading several books at the same time for the worry of confusing myself. It's all good so far.

So there, I'm still doing stuff in relation to my moving out of the apartment. Hopefully, everything will be okay.
